Role of Commercial Function in Guinness Nigeria
In the Supply Chain functions of Guinness Nigeria, we Plan, Source, Make and Move. Below are brief descriptions of how these feed into the system
The planning processes drive what we buy, what we make, what we move and what we store right across our supply chains. The effectiveness of our planning process is a direct contributor to our performance ambition, our 6 must do’s, our service, Profit &Loss (P&L) and balance sheet performance. Planning is also a key enabler for our Source, Make & Move aspirations.
Our goal is to ensure that each of these sites has the tools, processes, capabilities and support necessary to help us beat our competition and become internationally recognized as best in class every market in which we manufacture.
OpEx MAKE primary role is to drive sustainable manufacturing practices that in turn drives improvement in performance. This is achieved through a fully Integrative Improvement System (iiS) driving core capabilities through all levels of our organization.
The Opex Move team ensure our customers experience best in class delivery, so that our products are available for consumers to celebrate life, everyday, everywhere.
We develop leading strategies, standards, and programs for all our Move activities, and customer service interactions for products we own and sell.
Through partnering with the markets in their deployment, we ensure that our products are delivered in a cost effective, responsible, and sustainable way that delight our customers.
Departments in Supply
Planning: Forecast and execute to deliver business target (AOP)
Capex: Manage capital expenditure by creating value with new investment and re-engineering of old/existing investment to create further value and increase life span.
Procurement: Embed best cost and benchmark performance, deliver outstanding end to end value through our commercial leadership, enable growth by pursuing innovative supplier solutions and drive Diageo’s sustainability agenda across our partners and suppliers.
Customer Service: Strives to build sustainable relationships with our Customers by offering – Quality and efficient service that ensures consistent availability of stocks in our Order to Delivery process at the least cost, making us unbeatable in Trade.
Governance: Technical governance for end to end supply chain operations, suppliers and regulatory partners
Technical Innovations and Brand Change: Looks after Innovation and Renovation for Nigeria. Responsible for new liquid and pack developments for both new launches and renovations
Codex: A programme designed to bring the brewing and Packaging of Guinness to sustainably higher levels by setting really clear standards. Guinness Codex allows us to brew in a stable brewing environment, share our learnings across sites & improve our capability as brewers to a level that brand Guinness deserves.
Packaging: We provide excellent outer product packaging safely and right level of quality to the delight of our customers and consumers
Brewery Inventory: Facilitate brewery wide success by stocking engineering spares, raw and component materials to support production
Brewing: We are the liquid specialists who create value by converting quality raw materials to meet and exceed consumer requirements of finished products.
Quality Assurance: Raw materials and finished product quality assurance for manufacturing process
Asset Care: Provide cost effective utilities supply and best in class asset care services in a safe manner without harm to the environment.
Spirits: We blend and package quality mainstream spirits in various pack sizes for all classes of consumers to enjoy everyday, everywhere
Health Safety and Environment: We manage occupational health and safety systems across sites with a view to promote a safe working environment for all employees whilst ensuring sustainable development of the environment.
