Diageo Plc, the parent company of Guinness Nigeria is a signatory to the UN Global Compact. Thus, in line with its commitment to operating responsibly and building thriving communities, we partner with several stakeholders in the sorghum and cassava upstream value chain. The ecosystem is an alliance of private sector players creating value that impact smallholder farmers.

In 2018, we partnered with 5,121 smallholder farmers across eight (8) by providing access to finance, certified seeds, unadulterated inputs, mechanization, training on good agronomic practice, training on basic book keeping, supplier credit, extension support and access to market.

With this intervention, Guinness Nigeria continues to leverage on the collaboration as provided by the respective partners in the agricultural ecosystem to improve the livelihoods of these farmers by moving them from subsistence level to full economic inclusion.
