Guinness Nigeria has established a scholarship scheme for young school leavers in its host communities in Lagos, Edo and Abia states for the study of Engineering. The scheme is being implemented in collaboration with the Nigeria Society of Engineers (NSE). The scheme has now been extended to include other fields of study and it is being conducted in partnership with the Nigeria Institute of Management (NIM).

We also promote technical education by sponsoring indigent students to the Institute of Industrial Technology (IIT) in Lagos for a three year skill acquisition programme. In the last 4 years we have conducted two rotations of this programme and 20 indigenes have benefited.

In an effort to support computer education, we have donated several personal computers to some secondary schools across the country. In 2004, Guinness Nigeria invested N11.5 million in the publication of a compilation of 20 years of past questions and answers from the Nigerian university matriculation examination. This reference book was publicly launched by the then Vice-President of Nigeria, Alhaji Abubakar Atiku.
